Footnote to the Youth by Jose Villa Garcia (reaction)

City The footnote to the youth of Jose Villa Garcia is about a man named Dodong who wants to marry Teang. He was ashame to tell it to his parents. But his Father allowed him. Then they've got married. Teang was to give birth for their first son but after that he was ashamed to his parents because of being a young father. More children came to them. Teang looks like an old lady after all the responsibilities of a mother. Sometimes, she thinks that what if she marry Lucio, who is until now childless. Then his son Blas, also wants to marry Tona. Like what Dodong did when he was 17 was the one that Blas also did. Dodong allowed Blas to marry Tona but he was disappointed to him.
The story makes us think of the responsibilities and the consequences for being young parents. It’s not that easy to have your own family in an early age. Sometimes we have to think twice before coming up to a difficult decision. As for being a parent we should reprimand our children of the right things always. Children often set their parents as their example. What we are will surely affect some of our children’s decisions in life. There will come a time that we are going to regret but we should be strong to stand to it.

This story will surely help students like me to decide well when it comes to a parent related decision. This will serve as an eye opener to us that if we want a better future we better finish our studies and think of having a family the moment we can say that we are ready of the responsibilities.
